I remember Blue Thunder too, but Airwolf was awesome.

I had this weird idea that Blue Thunder, Airwolf, and the beginning of Running Man took place in the same universe.

Randomly I’ll catch myself humming the theme song. I’m only 35 myself so I must have watched reruns at some point when I was young.

I’ve been looking for it on amazon and Netflix for the last 6 months. Missed opportunity I say. I was 9 when it came out and to say I loved it is an understatement.

I could see it. I always preferred Blue Thunder to Airwolf as far as story and acting goes.

I was 13, you’d think prime viewing age, but I don’t remember this at all.

Sad Airwolf fact: the Airwolf helicopter crashed in Germany in 1992 while serving as an air ambulance, killing all three on board.

Don’t watch it now. The memory is awesome.... the real thing? Not so much. Same applies to Kung Fu, Knight Rider, pretty much anything except MASH.

I watched Airwolf, but I always thought of it as a Blue Thunder knockoff. I also had to work hard to suspend disbelief at the idea that this helicopter could be hidden from government eyes but in an accessible location.

S hows from that era I’ve tried over the last couple of years (hurrah, Netflix):
Rockford Files: very good
Magnum PI: better than I expected
MacGyver: couldn’t make it 10 minutes through the pilot
MASH is indeed truly unique in its overall quality . I remember seeing in a book some of the editorial cartoons that came out in the papers after the last episode ; the recurring theme was there was nothing left on TV worth watching. (Sadly my search engine mojo is failing me.)

It basically was. Still, the 222 looked pretty cool.

You know how sometimes Kinja doesn’t put story links in Oppo posts...

Just saw this. And as soon as I did, the theme song popped into my head. I wasn’t into this show quite as much as Baa Baa Black Sheep , though, which was a few years earlier. I should go back and watch an episode or two. I’m sure I saw them all. As for Airwolf, I will admit to having had a crush on Caitlin O’Shannessy .

Ba Ba was a better show, but Airwold was cool. I loved Tails of the Gold Monkey as well. I still want a Goose because of it.
